    As Matt says!

But removing the speed limiter is a case of chopping one of the wires to the ecu. IIRC it is a white wire with a green stripe and two silver flecks, on the 22 pin connecor.

This will not change the performance of the car, but simply allow it to keep accelerating after the speed limiter should have kicked in.

You can't cut it at the speedo end. How would the speedo work?

If you have a standard VR4 then it is a little breathless at high revs/high speed. Time to modify? And I'm interested in why you think the car is weak because the acceleration slows after 90 mph. What are you comparing it with?

i wouldnt say its weak above 90... compared to most cars, its still pulling pretty damn well!

obviously you cant compare it to cars with more power!

On the ECU, as I said.

How much power did th Fiat have, and what weight? And what type of box did that have and does your VR4 have?

My car shoots off even at 90mph, when i plant my right foot.

Simplest way is at the ECU as Nick suggests... ain't that right Nick

Not tested my car on my private test track yet. Trax will be a good first time

220 man and not in great cond at all. vr4 auto looked after very well like today following a 208 down motorway at 100 floored it she cogged down to 4th more noise but not much go. then speedo hits 120 car wont go anymore. for stand still car rocks would eat the fiat alive and a lot of other cars but mid range up seems to be lacking. ????????????

Sounds like it is choking a bit? You should get to 130 without too much trouble, but 5th gear in a standard auto is a bit slow. (All on a private test track, of course?!)

Put it on a rolling road and get them to log boost, afr, etc. It might be worth fitting new plugs first, as well as a good service. Have you got a rubbish pod or mushroom filter? That could be hurting it too.

The wire goes from the speedo, splits at some point, and the wire I have mentioned is the feed for the speed cut. That is all it does.

The ecu is behind the dash, below the stereo, towards the front of the car.

if you leave it D and accelerate hard, foot to the floor job in 3rd the speed will clim and change to 4th the speed will continue to clim but then run out of puff before it would normally change 6500rpm to 5th but if you manually push it to 5th at about 5500rpm it carrys on accelerating to about 145 before running out of puff again at about 5500rpm.

My uncle has a plane, so i can use a disused section of the air field to play every now and again. it is great fun and it's private.

    Bye for Now!

what did you have in the wagon? i know vr4 wagons go, but if you got weight. ie passengers it struggles a bit. (im talking stock standard) not modified at all.

i know i was driving up some hill going bout 120km @ 4000-4500rpm and thats with a full load of people. but by myself with no passengers its alot easier...

Have a look at that thread, especially post 12. The search function throws up a few more matches for what you are asking too.
