Quick question - difference between cold & warm spec cars

Folks, quick lunch hour question for you...

What are the differences between cold and warm spec Galants / Legnums?

I'm after bodywork 'extras' on a cold spec car - for example do they get undersealing in the UK and not in Japan-sold cars?

I take it Japan get warm spec? And the UK get cold spec?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Japan is a big place!! And mountainous in the North, hence the need for 'cold' and 'warm' spec cars

cold spec has a bigger battery, heating elements in the front window for the wipers, heated wing mirrors and supposedly better undersealing

    No body work differences AFAIK

Mine's a warm spec COTY & has heated mirrors. Cold spec cars also have a bigger alternator.

Those bigger 120a alternators tend to die sooner as well

don't the cold spec cars have full under tray under, mid big bit , under front bumper and a little bit at each corner of front bumper.

are they the ones that get heated seats as well?

Dave - Difficult to say, there's the Left and right sections of the under tray for fitting under the foglamps as shown on CAPS, but I've never seen a Jap car, cold spec or not, with them fitted.

Of the Jap Spec cars, not even cold areas had heated electric seats. In fact, the only Jap-Spec model that I know of that had them fitted as standard was the Legnum 'SnowBird' special edition - and they were all GDIs AFAIK.

lol, if you go into caps and go into the badges section there are big snowbird applique's that were on those models. I've seen a few here in NZ, but never managed to look inside one and see the seats.

I now remember seeing them on Camskill's website too.

I had had a few jars last night by the time I got in and posted that. Fortunately, I fell asleep before I could post any random ramblings!
