Haha, loving the stats from the Lupo, Nev. I'd buy one just for the fuel economy... not!

Anyway, this last two weeks I've been hitting the mileage pretty hard. I always keep a track of my fuel and miles, so here are the last few runs I managed...
FUEL - Date - Litres - Gallons - Total - Per litre - Miles travelled per fill up - MPG
    Shell/Vpower 25/01/2009 42.16ltr 9.27gl £39.17 £0.929 247.80 26.72mpg
    Shell/Vpower 07/02/2009 44.70ltr 9.83gl £43.31 £0.969 239.00 24.31mpg
    Shell/Vpower 11/02/2009 43.64ltr 9.60gl £41.85 £0.959 250.50 26.10mpg
    Shell/Vpower 15/02/2009 29.24ltr 6.43gl £28.04 £0.959 126.00 19.59mpg
    BP/Ultimate 17/02/2009 41.90ltr 9.22gl £43.95 £1.049 279.20 30.29mpg
    Shell/Vpower 20/02/2009 48.25ltr 10.61gl £48.20 £0.999 301.60 28.42mpg

Thought I'd put this up seeing as I have just been through the last two months fuel invoices and worked out my averages.

Ignore row 80 and 81 as they are just continuations of the formulas.

Also ignore the number in cell J82. That figure should be 25.02 which is my average MPG reading since having converted the car to manual (5 months - Feb 09 to June 09). Prior to that the automatic average MPG was 21.91 (7 months - from July 08 to Jan 09). Since the conversion I have also added a piggyback ECU, electronic boost controller, downpipes and decatted the car so no doubt that would also impact on the readings.

And the readings from Japshow onwards have all been at HIGH boost, just cos its fun!

And row 79 is the best of all cos there was about 30 miles of twisty A702 out of Edinburgh and all of that was taken in 3rd gear at very high speeds at high boost in gorgeous sunny weather with all 4 windows down and a load of files and clothes in the back of the car! Then when I got to the A74M and M6, I was still cruising at 80 with all 4 windows down!

Haha, I started keeping fuel records once I became self employed and have just continued doing that ever since. I now make a note of the milage on the back of each receipt so I know how much I have driven for it to cost that much in fuel.

And I have a very mixed driving style, thank you very much

That was definitely a brown pants moment when Nick turned left without warning.

Hehe, yeah, when we left the Ibis/McD carpark everyone did a runner and the convoy was broken. I drove blind for a while until I caught a glimpse of Nick turning right at one of the roundabouts, then accelerated hard to try to catch up which I eventually did due to some traffic.

But yeah the MPG readings are consistently above 25 now

I tell you there's nothing ecconomic about my fuel, other than im sure its helping boost shells profits.

The absolute best I've had is 210miles to a tank, but the other day was 156. Thats with motorways included though. Although i will say, my absolute record is 72miles on a full tank, thought that was quite impressive!

This is the great thing about the mpg on these - anything in the middle is just mediocre, but get really high mpg or really low mpg, and they're equally impressive!

    Thread from the dead time

just filled my vr4 up and it worked out to 29.444444 mpg

thats mainly local journeys with a couple high speed long runs thrown in, oh and 1 case of annoying the **** out of a beemer Z4M so the go baby go button was used quite a bit so 1.2 bar and full throttle for 5 miles ish

    pretty impressive really.
