    Hello and welcome

Anything is possible , it will require quite a lot of re-wiring as the ecu from the GTI will need to be put in the car as will most of the engine loom , you may not need to replace the tank as they may be the same , just have a blank over the retrun port

    good luck with your quest

it all depends on how good you are at doing this sort of thing , none of it is that difficult and could probably be done over a 3 or 4 weekends

but remember that other things maybe be different like the suspension , etc etc so it could turn out to be a major job

Can be done, but it's too much work (IMO), better try to find out what is causing the MOT fail and see what needs to be done/costs. I own 2 GTi's (+a VR2 + Legnum VR4 but that's just braggin') but... maybe you're interested in buying one? It'll be LHD though
