Would it be possible to transplant a V8 into a VR-4 and could 4WD be maintained? Was thinking a small displacement V8 like the M62B44 4.4L V8 from BMW.

too long, you'd never get one to fit!
Why would you anyway? The 6A13TT makes a heap more power and torque if you get a boost controller.

So what sort of 8 could you squeeze into a galant then? One of those VW W8s perhaps.
You'd put another 6A13TT in!
Sure that would be the sensible thing to do, but what if you wanted a project to work on longer term and you wanted to be a bit different. I am sure there are people out there who think like that.Originally Posted by bradc

If you really wanted to be special and have a V8, the mitsi 8A80 would be the obvious choice. Even came with a F5A51 gearbox which is very similar to our gearbox.
What about a lexus v8? or a 6G72 DOHC TT,mmmm.

soooo heavy!
IF you're going totally mad with ridiculously heavu powertrain, why not put another engine in the back?
Dual 6A13TTs?
Or how about a pair of 4G63Ts?
I think with the 6G72TT all the connections are the opposite way round to the 6A13TTOriginally Posted by Onboost!

That much time etc?
Turn the V8 90 degrees, make a transmission tunnel find a suitable rear axle / diff couple it all up and...............

If you were going to spend the cash on fitting a 6G72TT, you might as well do a DOHC 24v 6G74TT. I had an n/a 6G74 DOHC 24v (was a bolt in job to my TR magna/diamante but never got around to the swap), and they're only 18mm taller in deck height, otherwise identical. But around 200kW and around 330Nm torque stock.
Use a V8 designed for transverse FWD, just like the 6A13 is. How about a Northstar? Or Audi 4.2?
It's been a crazy year, But through all the damage done,
I have turned and I have learned, To make next year a better one,
Singing Oh Hallelujah,
Singing Oh I am home.
^You mean the RS6 engine?
