    Multiple VR-4 ownership

    Multiple VR-4 ownership:

So after HJM getting their second VR-4, who amongst us have been multiple owners?

IIRC Barry had two after first one was written off

    Spirit has had two

I think Nick Mann said he has had two

So what type have you owned - saloon, estate, s, v, pfl, fl...?

I have had 99 saloon and 01 estate - both facelift models, s types
third vr-4 is just around the corner hopefully

I owned two AT THE SAME TIME

A white prefacelift COTY model with black leather and auto.

I've still got my awesome manual facelift VR-4 with TME recaro's, moonroof, mmcs, wheel flares, brembo's, 228kw ATW, etc

Three. And a couple of V6's

    I started wih a '98 V6-24 in finesse green.
Then I had an '01 Type S in trigger Mauve. I couldn't afford to run it - Mitsy warranty meant Mitsy servicing and a gigantic loan. The only car I have been sad to sell.
I then went back to non-turbo with a '00 V6 Sport. Hamilton Silver. I missed the turbos so sold that and got:
'96 prefacelift Type S in Hamilton Silver. It was a good car and managed to earn me my dirty boy nickname! But the facelift blues were still there and the following year PJJohnsons car became available. I had spoken to PJ about having the car in exchange for the trigger mauve one a couple of years previously, so along with the fact it was a fettled facelift, I decided to go for it. And I still have a '99 Type S in Indigo Blue. Alhough I'm not sure PJ would recognise it now! I hope he approves.

Silver 1997 Leggy VR4 owned for over 4 years
Black 1997 Leggy VR4(only kept for around 1month then broke for parts)
White 1997 Leggy VR4 Manual(bought with knackered engine, but had engine ready to transplant and was going to keep) but the Stuey sadly got his Black Manual Leggy rear ended, so I sold car to him and PSBarham transplanted his engine, brembo's, coilovers and exhaust on to it, then we had 1 happy Stuey again )
Then I bought my Present 1997 Silver Leggy VR4
And then there was Mrs WODJIES Facelift Black Leggy Gdi (Now owned by PSBarham)

Ariadne is a 1997 model year, thankyou very much! And yes, I bought that car from Nick. And these threads probably explain his 'Dirty Boy' moniker!

This was posted one week after ownership...

    http://www.clubvr4.com/forum/showthread.php?t=9830

...Followed by this, about a month later...

    http://www.clubvr4.com/forum/showthread.php?t=10830

...And, erm... This, about 2 and a bit months after I first got the keys...

    http://www.clubvr4.com/forum/showthread.php?t=11597

I've also had a lot of non-VR-4 Galants.
I joined the club in August 2003, not long after getting my first Galant... My 2000 GLS - And with it, I changed the landscape of CVR-4 forever, by introducing the GOD of GLS POWER! to the club! I still miss this car:

    http://www.clubvr4.com/forum/showthread.php?t=2528

Then about a year later, the same chap I got the GLS from, had a V6 Sport for sale.... So I went and had a look... Just, to have a look - You know....

    http://www.clubvr4.com/forum/showthread.php?t=4659

I sold Hordak after I got Ariadne. Hordak's still alive and well though!

    http://www.clubvr4.com/forum/showpos...86&postcount=2
    http://www.clubvr4.com/forum/showpos...6&postcount=26

After buying the VR-4, I also got my coupe.... Whilst we were on Honeymoon!

    http://www.clubvr4.com/forum/showthread.php?t=8864

And then - I needed an engine... So with the help of PSB and TheVee, I got one. It came free with a 1976 Colt Galant Saloon!

    http://www.clubvr4.com/forum/showthr...t=12811&page=3

And finally, the forums tremmored earlier this year, as the GOD of GLS Power found a way back into the realms of CVR-4! And he wasted no time in creating havoc!!

    The Arrival:
    http://www.clubvr4.com/forum/showthread.php?t=30897

    The Cleaning:
    http://www.clubvr4.com/forum/showthread.php?t=30970

    The Mayhem:
    http://www.clubvr4.com/forum/showthread.php?t=31697

The (Premature) End..... Check the pictures - That was two Month's worth of polishing!!
    http://www.clubvr4.com/forum/showthread.php?t=32287

I've enjoyed all of them. My 1st GLS had that 'executive' feel about it and it was NEVER dirty for more than a few hours! My V6 Sport was the 'Sharpest' feeling of my Galants - A wonderfully sporty drive with nice handling and that wonderful V6 howl. Much nicer sound than the VR-4 and it wasn't short on power either. My VR-4's been loved and doted on way beyond what's sensible and I really will miss the grip when I move on to something else - It's not so much the speed at which you can attack a corner, it's the fact that whatever the road conditions, I've never had any tyre squeal or antics like that. The Coupe is a sweet little car and is crammed full of Retro! My 6G is a case of 'Unfinished Business' as far as I am concerned. I didn't want to sell that car and I'd have another 6G any day of the week. Despite being older they're a smoother, more relaxing drive than the 8Gs... They're not quick, and I doubt they handle very well, but you want to cruise?..... Yeah, you get yourself a 6G and soothe the miles past....

I've had three 8G's so far.

    First:
1998 V6-24 manual saloon (2 years) - great car, very sweet engine.

    Second:
2001 tipo VR4 Saloon Type S (nearly 4 years) Fantastic car. Great looks.
Sold it, then looked at many other cars including R32's, RX8's and EVO's but
after 6 weeks got sucked back into VR4 ownership as follows. (Just couldn't resist)

    Third:
1997 manual VR4 Saloon Type S (to date) Again a fantastic car, not
got the visual impact of the facelift one but a really great drive. It was a fresh
import therefore no rust, and mechanically very, very nice and the manual box gives a much more involving drive.

I have a 1998 Pearl White pre-facelift Legnum VR4 and (although not a 'real' VR4) a LHD Hamilton Silver Galant VR2 (swapped V6 engine for VR4 engine, but FWD only).

Besides that I own two 6G Galant GTi (which both easily beat the God of GLS Power any day) : a 1992 black hatchback and a silver 1990 hatchback.

Before these cars I've had only one other car for 9 or 10 years: a white 1990 Galant GLi.

Wel I can now reveal that I have my third VR-4...

...it was round the corner as I stated in my first post...

    ...actually parked round the corner...

..pictures in a new thread soon...

    Kieran...

I see that I have opened the floodgates..

...in the same way that I can go on at length about a certain piece of tarmac,
you can wax lyrically, at length, about car ownership/memories/cleanliness and project work/activities

As suggsted in my PM, are you up for another 6G project of smaller proportions on behalf of another CVR4 member?

All are manual, except for the Legnum (thankfully, as I don't think I'll get easily used shifting gears with the 'wrong' left hand).

two for me too!!! would love to make it three!!!
2001 Ralliart type-s saloon, with recaros etc really nice but was expensive to keep and run at the time.
1999 Ralliart type-s estate, with leather, ralliart suspension and HKS exhaust etc cheap to buy and probably my favourite car ever!!!

    Also had a few other 8G's too, all V6's 2002 V6 Sport/Elegance tip saloon, V6-24 manual saloon, V6-24 estate.

would love to get another facelift estate but need someone to buy my LPG outlander first....
