The side skirts are going to be fixed with lots of fibreglass

Cause they would be impossible to replace.

I am very lucky with one thing though and thats the paint.

Its single stage pure gloss black. Piece of p to match.

Bit of a shame its so bloody soft but hey ho.

best get your drill out then, not sure even i would attempt to repair them that one crack going upwards to the bottom of the door looks like it could make or break the fix.
Good thing about the paint though, black is generally an arse to match

you could have them plastic welded, if you not keeping them satin black
would be a bit more flexible and forgiving than fibre glass is.

This looks like its going to be a great project! Alot of works involved but I'm sure if you got it posted up on here, its all the motivation you need to get the Super finished. I agree with Gly though, why not plastic weld instead of fibre glass? plenty of cable ties and a soldering iron will help sort the job. Good luck with it mate and keep the updates comming.

I need to read up upon plastic welding. I may just end up taking the to a bodyshop and seeing what they can do with them.

Looking forward to keeping updated with this project, Don - looks great, and the great paintwork you've found under those stickers you've removed and how those parts have polished up is fab!

Are you going to spruce up and sell? Or spruce up and keep?

in terms of getting on the road the silver one is a priority. However it will definatly be on the road by the rolling road day.

If that had been my car I would have breathed a huge sigh of disappointment when it came off the transporter.

After such a looooong wait, I didn't expect it to be in such a state! However, fortune smiles on you as you've the necessary witchcraft skills to get it back into shape

I'm sure that once it's been given the "Mu" touch it'll look brilliant!

After studying the pictures from Japan VERY closely and studying again the Auction sheet it actually isnt THAT different to how it was at auction.

It was important to me to get the base car right. Its a Super with a very good interior and its only done 60odd thousand miles. Oh and its Black

All the rest is just cosmetics and can be put right over a period of time.

I'd much rather buy something cheap and do it up than go out and spend top dollar for a perfect car.

Half the Journey is making the car you're own, as soon as I removed the first sticker it became MY car .
