Not sure I agree with that. I guess it depends on how driveable the car is without it.

Thats mine, good luck to him. If I needed the money right now i would of held out for £1500. To get that money he would need to sell to someone who knows nothing about cars. The market is a buyers market and for a 12 yearold car it would have to be someone who really wants one.

No. The airflow meter is not in the car anymore, the stock boost solonoid is not in place either. No CAT fitted. It has goodpoints to but needs a bit of work which i had no interest in doing. Now there is bald patch in my garden where it used to sit.

The car is running perfect and doesnt really need a map i have owned and sold loads of these cars to know if its running right or not.

The car was far too cheap and sold within 15 minutes of me advertising it.

You got to do whatever to survive these days and i took an opportunity and made the most out of it like any other businessman.

I dont think anyone can complain about making £1500 in 15 minutes

I'm not sure how you can say that when Paul himself said it needs tuned. I hope you have told the buyer it needs to be properly setup

What Peter said!! If it's had the MAF deleted and had a MAP2 fitted, it'll need setting up!

I think it is only fair that we ask the question - If just so Zee can say 'Yes, I sorted everything out'.

Zee makes his money by buying and selling cars. ANy of us could have a go at doing that too. So no argument from me there.

Having said that, a short disclaimer to the new owner suggesting a remap wouldn't hurt either. The new owner will surely be pleased that the car could be made quicker/more efficient/more responsive.

Sorry but a statement to the new buyer about the car not being able to pass the mot without purchasing an CAT , and the fact that the car is not ruuning to it's full potential and needs a proper map put on there

I have no issue with anyone making money and good on ya for selling so quick

As Zee says he is a buisness man, fair play to him if he makes £1500 then thats his gain. I got what I wanted from the deal and dont regret selling it that cheap. If i was on the bones of my arse regarding money I wouldn't of bought the M3 and would of tried and sold for a higher price.

ZEE was it the fastest you have ever drove or is that part of marketing? Just curious.

Assuming it was not a trade sale (not very likely), the new buyer will be getting the benefit of the consumer protection laws (Sale of Goods Acts, Misrepresentation Act etc). So if the mapping etc does prove a problem, it could be costly for the seller.

Then there is Income Tax, Class 4 NIC and VAT to be acounted for, where applicable.

The receipt Keith received for his car was as a private sale and sold as seen.

A trader that advertises as a trader on any media can not sell a car as sold as seen .

I would agree. There could be an exception for the sale of his/her personal car - but that does not apply here.

IIRC, it may even be unlawful for a dealer/trader to even use the words "sold as seen".

Look guys i know your only trying to look out for each other here and i completely understand

Firstly i have notified the buyer before he even committed himself in buying the vehicle, that it could do with a map so it runs perfect

I have given the new owner Ben's number (EUROSPEC) and advised him that it will need mappimg hence the cheap price.

I have sold alot of legnums and quite alot of the new customers are given full on information regarding the cvr4 forum.

If i was a dodgy dealer than the last thing i would do is give them details regarding this forum, and if the cars were bad than everyone who had bought a car from me could slag me off on here.

I deliberately help and provide as much after sales service and alot of customers that are on here can vouch for this.

"peter thomson" I dont understand why you even mention what i wrote on my receipt, when you contacted me and told me that the seal was leaking on the gearbox i immediately got in touch and we resolved the situation and i even did you a paypal transfer (gave you some money back)

So if i was a bad/dodgy trader i could have stuck with the receipt and invoice and said "sorry mate sold as seen" BUT i didnt. So what is the point being negative and trying to make something out of nothing eventhough you had another forum member you and your brother throughly check the car from top to bottom and even checked the gearbox seal and it wasnt leaking at the point of sale before or after the test drive.

Thats all i have to say, i just hate negative comments and everyone starts coming up with their own conclusions and making mountains out of molehills, when i am doing all i can and being honest.

ANYWAY, The reason why i didnt mention that it needed mapping is because, If i start mentioning all the negative points in my add it will stop me getting customers so i work my business a different way and have a different sales approach. I mention the negative points over the phone so i can also give a solution to the problem aswel, this works out much better for me as its best to speak to someone over the fone and give an explanation.
