turbo upgrade

i was wondering if the vr4 turbos are the same as gto or the 3000gt.i came across these turbos

would these work on a vr4

In a word - Not without a lot of tweakery. They're certainly not a bolt-up application, though a turbo of that size/spec would be a reasonable and not too laggy upgrade for a VR4.

Have a search of the forums for details, there's several good turbo threads.

TD04s would be the best to go for, but again not a bolt on jobby, although IIRC, a company in the US have figured out how to get the turbos of a 335d BMW(? know its a Bimma of some sort) and squeeze more power out of them, which someone then found out, they are the Mitsi TDO3 units IIRC

Someone has tried to do a hybrid turbo, but apparently a nut or wheel or something or other falls off and blows the turbo to bits

Whilst this is all true, unfortunately a TD03 is not the same as all TD03s, and the units created for the BMW are very different to those used in the VR4.
Which is dissapointing, but nevermind.

yep the bmw 1 does look a bit smaller then vr4 1,well just have to carry on looking tell we find one that does bolt on

in banzai magazine was vr-4 saloon with rebored engine and uk wersion of turbos from 3000 gt i willl check double but i am sure that what it was

well the 1s from the 3000gt do look the ones from the vr4,looks like a good much.
