www.jpilot.com have a very easy to use java IRC Client. It costs $49.99 one registration fee, other than that we could set up a channel on one of ther many IRC servers or someone who runs an always on broadband system could setup an IRC server, there's a few freeware ones out there.
I can recommend "Beware IRCD" http://www.webattack.com/download/dlbircd.shtml
An absolute doddle, just install and run.
If you're interested in testing it ,i'm playing with it on 82.39.44.20:6667 INSERT INTO post VALUES (only for today probably, but you never know. channel name is VR-4
There is a chat option called 'mirc' just an idea, if you could organise a chat room that would be cool, also u ever thought about publisising the site more on then net, i only found this site by luck, shame really cause its a great site, and its not up to it's full pertential. however this will come in time, thanks!

The Club is still very new.
But it has plenty of new things coming soon..
Once the membership fees are sorted I believe it's one of the extras that will be introduced
its not at the top of my list of "to-dos" to many other things aretaking priority.. but ive looked into it, and yes IRC seems to be the most usefull, as i cam implement that into this board, so only registered users can use it....
