Vibration

Hi folks
has any one got any ideas got my car back from mot the other day on the way home about five mile into journey the car started to vibrate as if I had a puncture got worse the faster In went .
pulled over onto hard shoulder everything checked drove off no problems used car again today after a few miles back came the vibration pulled over set off again no problems any ideas

front or rear , could be an inner drive shaft

There is no vibration through the steering wheel it feels like the whole car even the dash shook

Sounds like it is most likely wheel or tyre related then.

Hey koss!

It starts from which speed and which gear? Did you ever changed the AT fluid?

1st idea - one of the wheels has a dent (like driven over an edge)
2nd idea - auto box (if in higher gears) clutch slip

40 mph in 5th gear with light throttle - gearbox shudder.

If not, please let us know what you were doing/how you were driving. Speed/cornering/gear/throttle/accelerating/braking etc.

Hi have got brand new wheels and tyres it happens in top gear about 50mph onwards

both times it occured on motorway just steady driving the second time I braked hard several times and the car drove okay

Silly question, I know...but have you had the wheels balanced properly since this happened? It could be that one of the sticky balancing weights has fallen off.

Alternatively, I would look for damage to one of the wheels. Have you ridden over any kerbs or through any potholes recently? Are you sure that the MOT testers didn't take it for a 'test drive' and have done some damage?

And look for an out of shape tyre also.. But prob weight fallen off ..

Hi folks had the wheels done still the same do around 5 miles car vibrates slow down or stop and car is fine again for some time ive noticed this morning the car was missing on startup wonder if I may have a plug or lead breaking down causing the problem anyone know where I can purchase the ht leads
