TCS Fault - cant fix it :(

    Hey guys,

Since i got the car i have been getting code 72 form the EML and 77 from the TCS light, i know this is the vacums which plug into the canister and i have tried this and no better.

The other thing it mentions is this

"Traction control vent solenoid malfunction (usually blocked with dirt)"

    Wheres the vent?

    Cheers

Someone had this recently: http://www.clubvr4.com/forum/showthread.php?t=36343 - might be a prob with the grey canister itself...

Now i know your meant to clear the ECU once you have fixed a code.

Say three weeks ago my vacuum lines were off and i put them back on but didnt reset the ECU. Would te fault be on everytime i started the car or just pop up now and again like its doing now.

Is it worth resetting the ECU is basically what im asking. Or because of the intermitentness of the fault its more likely to be a faulty/dirty part?

    thanks

If you've checked all the pipes and stuff, then I would perform a reset. If nothing else, it's a cheap (i.e. free!) way of eliminating something off the list!

I believe that the fault codes are kept in memory until you reset them (usually with the mut II). So even if the fault has gone, you may still see the error code.

With the exception of SRS codes, I understood that disconnecting the battery for 30 seconds would clear all codes?

EDIT: This gives me an idea for a new thread...
