    MUT-II diagnostic tool

Me mentioning the SRS light in another thread a moment ago has got me thinking...

Does anyone in the UK have a MUT-II diagnostic tool?

Or can anyone get hold of one?

I have heard rumours that the mean stealerships will charge you a pretty penny just to plug one of theirs in, so I was wondering if there is already one out there that could become a communal CVR4 MUT-II, and it be posted on when someone needs one.

    Just an idea...

    So, anyone?!

Mainly for the SRS light I guess!

I expect that the SRS light issue will occur more frequently now, what with airbag life expectancies only supposed to be around 10 years, plus connections start playing up, such as the clock spring, etc.

I had no idea they were that pricey! I assume that they would still be around the £500 to £1,000 mark now.

I think Mark Sanne has got one though!

The Launch X431 will do every thing MUT2 does AYC bleeds etc
I used it on mine many times for diag stuff as well as using it to demo the kit when the customer wanted to see it working on jap stuff.
    Very easy to use

If we collectively had one. All you'd need to do is read the instruction set surely? Then a pc could do the rest?

Doesn't EVOSCAN do all that the MUT2 can do ? Or can it not clear fault codes ?

That's what I understand about Evoscan, and why I was asking about the MUT-II.

www.nr-autosport.com in lincoln has one, and probably wont charge a fortune to diagnose the problem about a 30 min drive from you (tell him Rich with the FTO-VR4 sent you )

My mate has some chinese scan thing he got for buttons, it took away the srs light on my legnum when i swapped wheels...

I'll try and mind and ask him what model it was, it seemed to do quite a lot

The MUT II can also over ride fault codes in for example the autobox so you can diagnose what the faults are and not just go by codes which don't always work as we found with the supposed faulty solenoids in Keith's box

Indeed I have one, and your welcome to use it, but it's the channel-watery bit between Holland & UK that makes exchange difficult.

Stealerships charge £70 for an srs reset!

The mut 3 is available from China at about $4.5k, mut 2s go on ebay for about £1.5 to 2k

BUT, a MUT1 will do it if you can find it and you can pick them up for about £500

    Cheers,

    Ben.
