    Alternative spoilers

What do we have? I have the pre facelift spoiler. I was looking at some pictures and it just looks like an after thought to me. I wondering if despoilered would look better (this has nohing to do with steves thrread either it just got me thinking)

Or is there another alternative? does the facelift one fit or are there any aftermarket spoilers for the car. I Like the top bit, but the sides of the spoiler just look a bit stuck on imo.

    Cheers

so just a case of waiting for them to come up 2nd hand then, i think its the spoiler from the super i prefer. It has the spoiler part but without the legs that go down towards the rear light clusters.

Thats the part i dont like.

You will need to get the rear tailgate resprayed.. Unless you get a facelift or Super spoiler complete with tailgate in the right colour..

Think that's the one folks are on about Chris!

Alan, get down Argos and get yourself a £14.99 Minky ironing board, and bolt that onto the back - you'll be fine!

If the OE Spoiler does slow the car down ? Then i'm happy with that Cos that means it's keeping it stuck to the Tarmac where it belongs

I meant if you fit a bigger spoiler for looks, but it costs you performance.
And yes, I'm rather partial to staying on the road too....but I'd rather have "free" downforce from ground effects than the nasty downforce you get from the deag on a spoiler.

I'd also like to know at what speed that downforce is really necessary at, cos the tail didn't feel particularly loose...in fact if anything the car feels a lot more composed without a weight at the back trying to lift the front wheels off the ground.

I've never felt the VR4 unstable at the front or rear. Speeds approaching 170mph and it felt rock solid.. Are you still standard ride height and shocks ? That could be the difference !

    You have a spoiler mate

Im def gonna rip mine off, i have a feeling ill quite like the look of the car without it. If not can always put it back on or take it somewhere to modify it so i prefer the look.

well it will come off see what it think, then if I like it it will be sent to the body shop for the holes to be filled. all depends on how it looks.

But i would far prefer a spoiler of somesorts just not the one thats on it. Looks great from the back but the side profile is where it looks odd.

Need to spray the lips silver rather than black it might give it a better balance.

any got some silver skirts and front bumper

If I were going spoilerless, I would also ditch the roof rails for completeness, IMO.
