What I've been doing today - cleaning my engine!

I thought I'd give my engine a clean today - not a steam clean or anything major - just a wipe over with a damp rag on the pipe work, hoses, and around the engine bay generally - then a freshen up polish of the engine cover.

It was looking a bit dusty the other week at the petrol station, when I checked the oil, so I had an hour spare this afternoon, so I set to work on it - and I'm so pleased!

I have one of those engines sitting on the floor of my garage.. leaking oil and coolant all over the show. Warped heads and a porous sump are not fun!

Your's looks in much better condition!

Very clean, that was done in an hour? very impressed.

I find the armor all interior wipes work a treat in the engine bay. They rip through oil like crazy and give the plastic a nice shine too.

That does look good I've spent some hours on my VR-4's engine bays and they look clean as well. Can't be bothered doing it on the ST-R yet, until I replace the clutch at least

    Thanks for the feedback, folks!

wantavr4 - took me about an hour - the engine is in a tidy way anyway, so I try to always keep it that way and do it regularly so it doesn't take 'forever' if I leave it a while. Not bad for a 56K mile engine!

I cleaned my 'Sport' alloys as well today, that took about 40 minutes or so - I do them every couple of weeks so the brake dust doesn't build up and becomes caked on.
