    What's my GDI worth?

New job requirements and a possible canine addition mean a Legnum/V6 Estate may be needed in the near future.

My sister has expressed an interest so I want to establish a fair price.

It's a silver 2.4 GDI Auto Elegance, registered in June 2000 ("W"). I am the 3rd owner ( for the past 2 years). MOT & Tax until 31 July 2009.

    GOOD POINTS
    1. FSH (mostly Mitsi). Oil and filter change 6 months ago.
    2. Autobox changes smoothly and compares well with my previous BMWs and Audis.
    3. Good tyres (2 were new in Jan 2009 and 2 in July 2008).
    4. Climate control works well.
    5. Good fuel consumption ( my best is 38 m.p.g. fully loaded + aircon).

    BAD POINTS
    1. 145,000 miles.
    2. Small dent in front of bonnet (was there when I bought it).
    3. Small dent and scratches on offside of bonnet lid (I did not notice fuse box on outside of house).

I had in mind £1000, +/- £150. Does that seem reasonable?

Sounds fair enough... it would be an undersell but for the mileage. fwiw, in june 2007 I sold my 98"R" 2.0 auto estate to my brother for £1k, with 115k on it.
It's been a crazy year, But through all the damage done,
I have turned and I have learned, To make next year a better one,
    Singing Oh Hallelujah,
    Singing Oh I am home.

    Thanks for the input, Isaac.

Yes, if the mileage was under 100K, the value would be nearer £1250.

    Update :

My brother-in-law has advised me that my sister will not be buying my GDI, as he's buying her a new car as a surprise present.

So it's off to look on Pistonheads/Autotrader etc for a Legnum or V6 Estate - unless any member is interested in a swap + cash.

£697 seems a pretty good price, especially if the leather interior is in good condition.

the interior is immaculate apart from the back of the drivers seat being insecure. other than that, not a scratch. i did a bit of digging around. according to parkers the v reg is worth up to £2k from a dealer with 90k on the clock. £1360 for a private seller. i knew it was a bargain and it was a lucky find. i love the car. at that price i let a few things go and replaced myself like the wiper blades, sidelight bulb and i got a part worn tyre put on. i now have a contact who repairs dents and scratches so it could be in good condition for less than its listed value once its all done. its just that front fog light that is bugging me

I have now decided that a VR-4 (or a Legnum) is a possible option.

So if anyone is prepared to do a part-ex, please PM me.
