Highway cruising (about 120kph), I get around 80-90C.

Pootling around town can be approx 100-110C, as can spirited country lane driving, even up to 120C.

Last week, I recorded 138C after a trip round the track. miller said he was up to around 155C!!

Amsoil will obviously be good for these extremes though.

All of my temperatures were without any variation on my stock temperature gauge (i.e. just below half).

For me, it depends on whether they're using an oral or rectal thermometer

Those temps seem incredibly high. Ok, i run a cooler, but i never get beyond about 80C...... Is the 0-30 good at 155C? When i had a slight issue with mine, coolingwise, i managed to hit 120C and the oil was desimated after that. Although there was no water cooling of the turbos at the time.

The temperature to get worried about with Amsoil is 170 + Having said that if you are in this kind of area you are likely to be having many other problems. If 0w-30 gets very hot you may get the oil pressure light flickering at tickover. Very unsettling but you still don't loose the excellent protection it gives.

Normal oil temp for me is around 85deg, I've seen it up to almost 100deg while driving quicker than I should be on the open road

Unfortunately not. All they have is an extended oil filter housing which provides a bit of cooling, but not very much at all.
