A Rolling Road Day in Scotland.

After seeing the thread for the rolling road day some of the guys & girls were at yesterday I wandered if any of the Scottish members would be intrested in me trying to organise one up here.

I'm very intrested in what my leggy is putting out.

Just gauging intrest at the moment but I think we would need at least 10 of us to make it worth while.

It does'nt have to be in Aberdeen where I'm from as there is only one place up here that I know of & they dont have the best of rep.

So if there's enough interest your more than welcome to suggest where we can go.

...but not all dynos (or their operators) are going to play nice with our tiptronic cars.

There's a chassis dyno - bolts to hubs rather than rollers - near Embra which a mate of mine was taking his Corvette to; I'll get the skinny in the pub on Thursday...

Had a WRX with a huge back box try to pull away from me last night & he did'nt & I'm standard at the moment except for MBC so it would be interesting.

If its not to far, like say no further than crail is then i dont mind a drive up. Hopefully a bit closer as crail is a good three hours away as it is.

and duncan at hypertec in falkirk is quite good from personal experiance they run a dyno dynamic rolling road been on the phone hes says minimum 10 cars £40 a car and hes a bit iffy about the auto boxs he said if he can hold the car in 3rd gear it should be fine but hes ask if somone with an auto could come down for a free trial run just to make sure he could do it properly before comiting

think the auto thing might be an issue with most rolling roads but id rather have somone give a free run to see if its ok before 10+ cars turn up and get let down rather than turning up to a place and getting told sorry dont know how or trying to blag there way through

Holding the auto in third will be no probs in tip mode but a free trail run would be good.

We can wait to see what Alistair(Fluffnik) comes back with on Thursday as well.

And congrats on finding a VR4. Did you put a thread up if so I must have missed. Is it a Leggy or a galloon?

no thread i managed to find a bloke in dorset wanting a swop for the accord would have been down to pic up already but with baby due didnt wana go so far away + hes just put it through an mot (failed) track rod end and emmissions but its de-cated and he never got the chance to swap the cats before the test so we both knew it would fail on that but new track rods getting fitted and hes gona put the cat on for the re-test so im not to worrie as long as it passes

Dastek - now doing servicing as Performance HQ Garage Services will do a Rolling Road & Tuning session on a Saturday for £40 per car if between 10 - 15 cars, or £35 if 15 - 20.
Wonder how many will require this after results from Crail

I think if we wait till Alistair gets back to us then we can all decide which one we all want to go for.

Didn't get a chance to quiz G on Thursday, he's a bit pre-occupied about paint and fibreglass repairs at the moment.
