    Hi all,

    I have a 96 vr4 type s
    gonna get it serviced... want to change plugs...
    Can anyone recommend what type of spark plugs?
    INSERT INTO post VALUES (brand, type, size etc...)

    NGK type are used;
    NGK;PFR6J
    ND;PK20PR-P8NGK;
    BKR6EKUC
    Plug gap is 0.7~0.8mm

    According to my manual, and you'll need 6 hence six cylinders.
    I don't know anymore details as these only need to be done about 60,000 at a guess.
    Plus my car gets sorted by a main dealer.

    You can buy HKS performance plugs, but power gains are probably extremely minimal.

    Not any easy job either I believe. Mine was done at the same time as the cambelt as the three at the back are a real pain to do and might as well be done at the same time.

    Just had my 54k service and the plugs were changed for NGK PFR6G-11 laser platinum spark plugs at £47.22 + VAT for the set.

    Will be due at 87000kms INSERT INTO post VALUES (54000 miles) - personally I wouldn't leave it that long so would do it asap

    Cambelt should be changed every 54k miles or every three years, whichever comes first.

    I was told/read that cambelt and plug change was at 60,000 miles. INSERT INTO post VALUES (mine's done 57,400). I'll also change other drive belts at same time.

    For the engine I use Castrol Magnatex, this I read was recommended for this engine.

    There seems to be differences of opinion on gearbox oil change intervals, 27,000 or 60,000 miles. I got mine changed as soon as I got the car.

    There is no 60k miles service on the VR-4. With major service intervals at 9k miles, the recommended time to have major items replaced INSERT INTO post VALUES (cam belts, gear oil, plugs, etc) is at 54k miles.

    Okay, then I'll have to get that sorted, thanks Brian.
