Anyone who can change a windscreen?

Hey, anyone have any connections for changing a windscreen?

Took my ute for a WOF, and its failed on a pile of things..

Apparently because i have a couple of chips on the windscreen they are too close together to be repaired, and i dont really want to pay $270 which is the best iv got for an 1994 L200 so far.

You can get the screen for $165 off trademe, so if you know anyone who will do it one weekend for cash or beers, please let me know

    is $270 installed??

it'll prob cost you $100 cash for any glass installer to do,

removing the old glass isnt easy. nor is it a quick job to do.

How far apart are they? Did you check with both Smith and Smith and Novus?

$270 installed is pretty good dude... not worth buying a 2nd hand windscreen and risking chipping the edge (resulting in needing a new one anyway) etc.

    Yeah thats installed..

I shopped around most of the afternoon at work

Fair enough i guess, i didnt think it was too hard a job when i watched the guy do the legnum one, but i guess i'll have to save some more.. turning into a friggin expensive wof on top of road users and other BS..

Brad, they are about 20mm apart, right in the center of the drivers vision.. where they have been quite happily for the last 12 months

But if anyone knows someone in the trade

If you have no excess windscreen cover with insurance, just crack it and then get them to replace it

I was going to post up at first that this might be a good excuse for you to get the VR-4 back on the road

Yeah i have actually been really trying, its in bits again and iv started to sort most of the in car wiring. Still havent sorted the crank or cam angle sensor wiring, or figured out why the ecu is connected to the alternator regulator, but getting there.

Iv got two three day weekends coming up to try and get it fit for the tuner, but with this ute thing turning into an expensive pain, it might not quite get there.. Plus im guessing there will be a bucket load of trial and error before i even get to putting any settings into the ecu.. i'll take any progress i can get tho
