    PPC magazine

    This months PPC buyers guide is for the VR4. Nice facelift legnum used for the pics (owner Steve - from here???)
    Usual journalistic license taken especially with the auto boxes - no mention of amsoil & maintenance being key to longevity.

    Also mentioned the engines are strong and can take the mileage "with some examples reaching 100K now" I think a few on here can trump that!!!

    Ive just got this! Wow 6 pages of a mag! and the pics are awesome.

    First up, is our 6a13TT engine a 'Mivec' V6 carried over from the 7th gen? didnt think it was the case?

    oh and the final comment on the manual versus auto Steve says '' I tried both auto and manual models and made sure mine was the latter'' The car in the pics is clearly an Auto? so whos car is it then?

    There seems to be a slew of journalistic errors in the article described above. (MIVEC for example).

    Unfortunately I'm confronted by these things every day, working in the industry that I do. It is something that really pisses me off because it tells me that the reporters, journalists - etc have not taken the time to research their subject material comprehensively.

    Unfortunately it seems that the era of actual proof reading is gone and has been replaced by the abomination that is F7.

    The V6 did come from the 7G, but those had 6A12 and 6A12TT's in them. The 6A13 was only ever used in the 8G's and in later years on a few Diamante's

    I have seen a 7g with a 6A13 in it. It was not turbo'd though, just a standard 6A13.

    thought the 7g was a 2litre v6 with twins

    6g was a 4g63T rotated the other way round as you say

    Nick's right - there was a 7G with the 6A13 engine in it. Only 1995-6 IIRC.

    Must be a UK only version or something, never seen one here, or heard of one in Japan.

    6G and 7G are around the wrong way, yes.

    I spoke to Steve at the weekend, who is pictured with "His" car! Prizes given for anyone with the magazine who guesses the derogatory comment that Kate gave him when she saw the photo!

    Several blatant mistakes, but not too bad an article IMO.

    I had them on the phone here and they were going on about Mivec, and i was saying they dont have it- its only in some of the FTOS and the evo 9 + (as well as that crazy colt cyborg).
