    2010 CVR4 Calendar Discussion Thread

Ok where to start with this.

Just putting thread up so I can get some feed back for ideas any suggestions and so on and so forth.

Hopefully it will run a little better than last year.

Should have Huston, Texas set up in cab soon so will be running the project from their during the week. Misses dosent want me to bring my work home with me at weekend.

Not sure on prices just yet, they are under negotiation as I write this but we are pretty sure we can get probably the same service and the same qulitity that we got of Chris at Darwen press as of last years calendar which, I think you will have to agree was to top notch.

So start getting your pics together and dont forget the 300 dpi thingy.

That caused a little trouble last year.

    http://www.darrenbarefoot.com/archiv...ally-mean.html

Iam hoping we can do a bar chart, one vote systen this year for the voting on the pics which I hope Mr Nev will sort out for me a little closer to the time.

    So I think;-

Just clean a few probs up.

2 weeks to sort out things and you guys to get some good material.

2 weeks to post up pics.

    2 weeks to vote.

2 weeks to clean things up.

1 month to bok in printing and then a month to get them out.

Postage is being sorted around the world but some discretion will have to be used on this.

So their we are, lets get snapping and here we go again.

I expect mid-October will be too late for photo submissions? The Brooklands photoshoot could deliver some great group photos and would be a shame if we missed out using those.

But glad to see you have volunteered to do this again. Great work Keith.

Can see what your saying but it is just due to getting it booked into the printers before it becomes a headache, this was one of the big probs from last year.

Tried to re-negotiate last years prices but its a bit of a struggle and so the price will be £11.00 per calendar which will get you the high quaility calendar as of last year and the cardbroad envolope to get it safely to you.

Postage for this size of parcel will be £2.14 for first class and then theirs the paypal charge unless you pay by cheque.

So their we go. If you r still interested in one post up your name and then i can get some numbers as to see if its worth doing.

If so we can start getting some pictures together in a couple of weeks and may be get voting on them asap.

    I'll help you out Keith.

I envisage a timescale along the lines of:

Entrants to post ONE picture by 31 August.

Voting to be completed by 21 September.

Tidy up pics by 30 September.

    Arrange printing during October.

    Arrange delivery during November.

    That sound good?

Keith - I'll start a fresh thread regarding the pictures side of things. I think it's worth emailing them to me, rather than posting up on the thread. That way they can all be presented in one go on 1 September for voting to commence. But please wait until the thread goes up!

People should still register on this thread if they are interested in having a calendar.

I, for one, will probably have two or three.

EDIT: Don't worry about the DPI malarkey (we had this nonsense last time!!) - as long as your digital pictures are in the region of 6 megapixels or more, then that should be fine. And don't worry about compression - I have no bandwidth issues, and there are no issues regarding attachment size, AFAIK!!

Great stuff if thats ok with you its ok with me.

Should cut alot of hassle out.

I think we need 11 pictures one for each month January to November and then 12 runner ups for the month of December as like the calendar of last year.

so lets hope we get more than 23 pictures

If you don't you could always just do a collage of all entrants (including the winners)

Well done on volunteering again Keith

I'll take a calendar, but doubt if I'll manage to enter a pic this year - car's been in bits since March and I can't see it being back on the road this month If it is though ...

I'd be up for buying a calendar too. And gutted that the timescales wont hold off for a couple of months or so.

The Ring trip, and the Brooklands shoot (and my car booked in at Xanadu) will no doubt generate a few good shots. But not to worry, I'm sure we will get planty of great submissions anyway

And you think you have it bad............

It's our winter down here now (New Zealand) so just to keep the car clean is a mission, not to mention trying to get a fine sunny day to get any half decent pictures will be all but nigh impossible............... but we'll try.............

Well done Keith for taking this on again..............

Nice one Nev. Looks like a go way of doing things.

If you dont mind looking out for the admin ,to start things off up to getting the pics voted for, then ill take over for getting the things printed with Chris and the distribution.

Its running alot smoother than last year already.

One advantage of being "red" lol

Im sure K and I will have one.

Thanks for sorting this guys. I know it sounds like a simple task to sort a few pics to put in a calendar, but people shouldn't under estimate the work involved.

Thanks guys for the encouragement. Always welcome.

Sorry about the cut off times but like I say after last year we just want it to run smooth. Still like we have said you can always put them in to next years.

This calendar business runs from September to September, thats what Iam finding out.

Eric.....Come on mate you have to get some good shots of the legend in action.

Lets get these picures going folks everybody on here must dream of their foxy machine being drapped over the pages of the Offical one and only CVR4 calendar.
