tbh dude i aint ever broke a car before let alone a vr4 and so i am guessing all prices and i have never had to buy a turbo so dont know how much they are new but please show us all where to get them from for £60 it seems a few people would like to know.Originally Posted by WODJNO
also all prices are negotiable as like i said they are all guess work but i dont suppose you would pipe up and tell me i could get a new ayc pump for £2000 from mitsubishi as that is the price on the invoice i have with the facelift some 10,000 miles ago if i had it advertised at £100.
cheers nick
It's been a couple fo years since I bought second hand tubs, but at the time they were £100 each for good ones. So £200 seems fair if they are good condition. Unless you really can get a pair of new ones for £260! Then the price needs rethinking! Wodj - what do you sell them for?
Yep Glenn is correct you can get a SINGLE recond turbo for £260 ish from Japan , but Carl is selling TWO turbos for £200

can someone tell me how you tell if a turbo is a "good one" or not. when you say shaft play do you mean side to side play of the compressor and exhaust wheels. if so what is within accepable limits or is only no movement accepable.
i would have thought that once the oil pressure builds up that would go some way to resticting the movement of the shaft, and does the shaft run on rubber/a n other type of seal. if so then there would be some play in that.
any thoughts?
Bye for Now!
If you can feel movement in the shaft, then don't fit it to your car.
yeah this advert is for both turbos and i have asked for offers around £200
Did you do this? What condition are they in? What was the mileage on the car (can't be @rsed looking for the original 'for sale' thread!)Originally Posted by carlos-1975
you know what i got side tracked taking ayc pump and transfer box off sorry forgot i said that will be off in the next few days and will report back then car had 138000 miles
carl
Hope some of those miles were KMs!
Let us know how they seem. I might make you an offer but it won't be £200.
It was a genuine ralliart import so don't know if they put a converter in had a look through the receipts and it seems they are the originals will update with condition this week
