HOw much for a recon then ??
if it only needs seals and bearings £80 for the parts per turbo plus a little summat for me for doing it, dunno really i normally charge £30 to mates so i cant see why not to cvr4 members. Obviously if the vanes are knackd ill need to do some pricing up.
Apparently the bearings are shot on both, seals on one ant the housing is cracked on both. have priced up BRAND NEW ones and they are £540 each!!!! unless any one can tell me different looks like im going to have to do it. Think i'll go for new turbos instead of recon. so can i get bigger ones?? if so what ones?
theres new ones on ebay at £199 each plus £40 postage from the land of the rising sun!!!
Still here somewhere........
No looked at them, they ate recon. and dont have actuators. but thanks.
Bengood123 bought his turbos from them and as far as I know he has been happy with them. Worth a pm to him to check

Is that the price from a Mitsi dealer?Originally Posted by kinger

The 2 companies on e-bay selling them only have the rear (I think) 49131-04100 turbo. Neither has the front(?) 49131-04300. Strange but true, or so they keep telling me every week I ask them!Originally Posted by miller
Curiously, I've got a set of kn@ckered ones, both from the same car, and the 49131-04300 one (which I'm struggling to find) is in much worse shape than the other. Perhaps there is more demand for this one and that's why the e-bay companies don't have any in stock: who knows?
kinger, where can you get them for £540 and does this include VAT?
I've been quoted £345-£450 ex. VAT for recon exchange (UK) so £540 for new ones is tempting for me.
The garage the car is at quoted me that price for them, no sure whre he is getting them from. i will find out and post it.
Cheers, Ben.
Maybe because rear ones are more likely to fail.Originally Posted by apeman69
Maybe. But who is going to change one failed turbo out of a pair? Doesn't make sense to me. 2 companies selling just one of the two turbos?
How often will owners generally change their turbos? Once perhaps during ownership?
If the rear one's gone then it's fair to assume that the front might not be far behind. Why would somebody just change the one?
I have absolutely no intention of changing one without the other, when I can bl@@dy well find some worth buying!
The logic of a Japanese company stocking only one of the pair seems like poor business sense. Maybe people do just replace one of the two... who knows.
I would have bought both turbos from one of the Jap companies on e-bay two months ago if they had them both, but one recon & one unknown on my car is not for me.
I agree. If I were to change one, I would replace both. Still interested in the info on the new ones when you get it kinger.
I am bit surprised .
Should these turbos can be easily bought somewhere near?
I'd be more happy if we know any place where they can be refurbished properly for right money.
