i was using in my vr-4 5w30 fully synthetic from millers oils.
i think it was xss its about 48 gbp for 5 l and i was really happy wit this oil

but amsoil is mind blowing perfection expensive but worth every Penny
( a the moment i am using it in Toyota soarer 2,5 tt)

i just had all my oils changed by nic for amsoil after doing loads of reading and research on it .. its the best stuff out there and so the cost is high.
Yes you can run your car on what you like..its your car after all ...
but and a big but is don't be surprised if in the future you start to get component faliure due to lack of correct lubrication being used. The vr4 is not a designed as a cheap mans car when it was made.. it was the flagship top model ..would you run a merc on wilkinson own brand??
anyhow for the poor guy who firstly asked his question..the castrol oil is good if fully synth.
