    brake upgrade

has anyone ugraded a GLS/GDi to VR4 brakes before? i have just been to see the guy that works on my car and told him about this suggestion and he said to watch out for different diameter bolts and possible issues with the struts and wishbones. are these possible issues with galants or are they a straight swap?

i have upgraded v6's and gdi's and as long as they are prefacelift/facelift then they will fit fine. you will have to drill the discs though to fit the 4 stud hubs

the hubs are part of the conversion. my alloys have seen better days so they are being switched to VR4 alloys so the hubs need swapping too. i dont really want aftermarket rims so its all or nothing. i doubt the VR4 brakes would fit inside the 15" alloys anyway. the standard brakes are pretty tightly packed inside them

furry muff, but as above as long as you are fitting pre-facelift brakes to pre-facelift hubs then you'll be fine. the hubs are the same

way beyond my knowledge. i have found a car with bits from both. pre fl bumpers, post fl tail lights. best bet is to let the seller have a look for me. he took them off a car so he will probably be able to tell whether or not they will go on my car. i leave mechanical stuff to the experts
