Jay
Jay, I have one out of my first legnum (1996)
Havent a clue what to charge for it, I'll check around and see whats a fair price.
For the downside its in dublin, so carriage may be a tad stiff.
Unless of course you have someone visiting dublin soon.
Cheers Tommie
old age and treachery will outdo youth and skill anyday
PM with details sent to you.
Cheers.
Im trying to think of how big a job this is to do, I could be wrong but I think the procedure is:
Drain gearbox and xfer oil
Remove Down-pipes
Remove-prop
Remove-Driveshafts
Remove xfer box.
Then the reverse to re-fit. How long is that likely to take a garage to do??
Jay
Slide hammer will be good tool to have
It doesnt take long. You dont need to drop the gearbox oil although you will lose about a litre of it, and the prop can just be disconnected from the most forefront mount and pulled out of the transfer box then left hanging out of the way.
As said above if you use a slide hammer to pull out the shaft on the passenger side the box releases from the gearbox easily so saves a lot of grief.
Oh yeah, and there are 6 bolts on the transfer box, non are that difficult to get at. Dont fancy giving it a go yourself?
I would give it a go on the drive if I had help , but iv never removed drive-shafts before and probably don't have all the tools.

NO More VR4 for me, well ive still got the 6G
OK, well see what the money is like in the next week or so.
Got MOT, tax and this to do this month. Joy oh Joy.
If I provided beer, food and fuel money, would any CVR4 members fancy coming to Yeovil to lend a hand with the swap??
