Question 4 stud hub to 5 stud hub help?

    Hello all,

i have been pondering how much work would be involved in swapping the 4 stud HUB to a 5 stud HUB.

the only alloys i wanted were the 4 stud 17's but as they are a bit soft so move on to bigger and stupid ideas.

i really want todo this swap but i dont know if the VR4 hubs will fit my 2000 2.4 GDI?

do i have to swap the ball joints or struts or even the driveshafts if the splines are different on the hub?

if i do i guess the VR4 suspension fits? which will help with lowering the car?

    reasons for doing it are:

i wouldnt mind some evo wheels, Brakes and calipers could be bigger?

Or would the spacewagon hubs fit as they are 5 stud?

    Thanks

    Thanks again

All you have to do is buy 5 stud wheel bearings ,discs and calipers from a VR4 breaker for the front but I have been looking at the rear and you can't use the VR4 wheel bearings. From looking into this for another member you will need 2wd rear Eclipse wheel bearings with the abs rings which are 5 stud and available from the US

more work pressing in and out the old units, just buy a set of vr4 hubs etc..as for the 5 stud rears well theres a complication being 2wd i think,Peter may just be right on this as even the 25st is a 4stud hub...

Or you can use FTO 5 stud front and rear , they'll work just the same.
