    Boost control solenoid/ vacuum piping

im trying to do the vacuum piping on my engine, but as im putting it in a fto and havnt seen the vacuum piping on the vr4 im a bit stuck

where do i connect the pipes for the boost control solenoid and the vent control solenoid?

    these

they usually have a resistor pack and a white bottle attached.

    do they go here

there is 2 bits coming off this,

black bit where does it go?
blue bit goes to a T piece which goes to the actuators but i have a spare conection on it?

    thanks

Yeah that is where they go. But.. as you're putting this in an fto, why bother with the stock boost solenoid?

Why not simply fit an EBC, then you dont have to worry about those things and you can have the new solenoid placed wherever you have room.

Im sure people with pics of the set up will be able to help you in a more illustrative way, but simply..... The stock solenoid is a bleed type so you have a line that runs to the actuators from the black induction pipe (red ring round it). before it reaces the metal pipe for the actuators, it goes through the solenoid, you therefore have an in and an out and a vent. So..... red tipped hose from the black induction elbow to the the solenoid, solenoid to the actuators (small metal piping) and then one that returns to the pre turbo induction pipework (post AFM)

im just trying to get everything running, then i can start doing all the extra bits.

once its running its off down to eurospec for a vipec ecu and ebc.

im still a bit confused as to which pipe goes where.

in the first picture one set of pipes has a green dot and the other a blue dot where do these connect to?

or is the stuff in the first picture to do with the traction control as the throttle body on my engine is for traction control?

in the pin out for the ecu they are down as

    vent control solenoid valve(red wire)
    vacuum control solenoid valve(green wire)

Yes they are not the boost solenoid, the bracket is the giveaway. I can assume your correct in the traction control assumption (I wouldnt know though, ive never had it)

ahhh, thats what was confusing me, i kept them because i thought that they were to do with the turbo system, i was a bit confused as to why i had a

    boost control solenoid
    vent control solenoid
    wastgate control valve

im pretty sure i have a throttle body with traction control as my throttle body has 2 little vacuum pipes at the top and the vr4 i saw at eurospec only had 1 and ben said that i probably got traction control so i believe him

Yep there is a fair bit to it on the TB, just bin it all.... and if your not that worried about the boost for the moment, id just do away with the solenoid as well and just run wastegate pressure.

yeah i've binned most of the stuff it was just those 2 bits, i might just run wastegate pressure as to get it running i'll be using the maf sensor and bogged pipework, make sure it all works then make up some decent pipe work get it down to eurospec and have a vipec, map sensor and ebc sorted.

would you boys be interested in the project thread? shall i stick it up?

what is normal wastegate pressure without the stock boost solenoid?

    is it about 5psi
