Actually, I have just realised what Robert means ... I believe you are referring to those weird characters that you have to read and then type in before you can register ...
If that is the case then yes I believe the latest vB supports this.

The forums I've been on it's not so much for searching as registering in the first place.

its just an anti spambot thing, to stop them getting acess in the first place.
