When are we likely to move to the updated vBulletin.
I presume it can block these, with the human interface input boxes.

It just seems these Bots are getting smarter and smarter.

on my forum its a standard thing you can add in, (its not VB mind you)
im fairly sure VB has it as well.

Actually, I have just realised what Robert means ... I believe you are referring to those weird characters that you have to read and then type in before you can register ...

If that is the case then yes I believe the latest vB supports this.

And the weird characters are usually called LETTERS, but sometimes NUMBERS

The forums I've been on it's not so much for searching as registering in the first place.

If they can't register, they can't post or send PM's.

I don't think the slurp spiders are much of an issue.

once your regestered thats the only time you need to put in that code.
then your free to carry on as before.
its just an anti spambot thing, to stop them getting acess in the first place.
