I'm not a Saaber but not adverse to them... What kind of Saab is it? Some technical specs would be good

must say i ve joined the saab fraternity but i will stay a member of club vr4 cos its without doubt the best. the level of tech knowledge, help and general friendliness is worth much much more than the paltry 20 quid a year fees. the peeps on here don t just stick to vr4 s either, help with anything. brilliant club, so join up you never know when you might need em. stan

not a saab fan, but i can see the benfits of a posemobile...droptop, sod opening the doors to get in/out, if the roof and windows are down! way hey!!!
yeah that will last of all about 5 mins, till u catch your foot and face plant the floor or inside the car.

and please please dont do what i see half the time in car parks.
roof down, windows up and then lock the car.....
why lock the car if the roof is down???
its really annoying, well so is a picture hanging not quite 100% dead right.
    im fussy like that.lol

Um, probably because that activates the alarm and immobiliser too.

Looks like a 9-3 SE to me, not sure which engine but I'd guess a 2.0LPT. You can play around with them quite easily and they are super reliable. I loved both of our SAABs and would consider one of the older ones again.

Mazz, many convertibles have a microwave sensor that picks up a person attempting to get into the vehicle with the roof up or down. At least if the doors are locked and the windows up it stops the opportunist.

thanks for all the comments guys,

dont know much about the car yet as i pick it up on wednesday but here's what i do know.

    saab 900 2.3L SE
    150 bhp 0-60 9.2 secs.
    top speed 132
    electric windows, mirrors, and hood.
    cruise control
    air con
heated mirrors, rear window and seats.
casette radio with 6 cd multi loader in the boot.
    remote central locking
    alloys
    remote boot unlocking

i think thats about it. i paid £1995 its a 1996 model and its done 41000 miles. the M.O.T. has been fault free for the last 5 years apart from this year when it had the following

    rear brake pads wearing thin
front socks abs showing light oil dusting
    fuel filter rusty.

all of which the dealer is going to fix along with giving the car a service, replace fading bonnet badge, fixing small dent in bonnet, and valet inside and out.

does anyone know if this car has total closeure windows? lol

I like Saabs. 900 turbo is a classic. Big and fugly, rather unnecassary but a big smile when you driving!
My brother has exactly the same car as your new one, but in blue with about 70k on the clock. They are usually reliable too, but my bro has had, and still has, a few probs with his. It currently has an electrical gremlin. Works fine one minute, then, all the lights go dead but car runs a nd drives fine, or just the headlights go, or just the indicators, come back next day and all works fine again! Must be a bad earth/fuse/connection somewhere. Also the passenger door is jammed shut opens a crack then seems to jam on the striker plate, then you gotta try and bash it shut!
Mechanically tho, its great, I reckon it'll run forever.

Hah ha! His missus hates it too. Needless to say it will be going soon!!

Not much room in the back for a large car too, even less with that wind deflector thing in place!!

Our old 9000 had a similar electrical problem - it used to go from dipped to full beam on its own and then not turn off!! A quick search on the Saab forums bought up a common problem, easily solved by resoldering a solenoid or (as we did) buying a new one - cost about £40 from memory ........

    I hated it too
