How do I delimit my car.

Before you all come back & say search I have. Cant fined the answer though.Maybe its because I still feel like s**t.

Phosty said yesterday that I just needed to snip the wire. Is it as easy as that or do I need a chip & if I need a chip what kind & where do I get it. If its just a wire which one is it?

    Thanks in advance.

    Thanks Peter

Unfortunately can't open the pics at work - so will check tonight.

Do they show the location of said ECU plug as I have never had reason to go any where near the ECU stuff !

Just thought it would be good to delimit Jane's car in case I take it for a little track spin (probably quite literally - before anyone else says it !!!) and then realise on the 1st straight its still limited.

The ECU is behind the centre console, at the bottom. Easiest way to access it is by removing the glove box and the left hand trim on the centre console. I also remove the right hand trim on the centre console too so that I can unplug all (four) of the ECU plugs so that it is easier to get at said wire.

It's an easy job but one that requires a bit of patience ... just because the ECU connections can be a bit fiddly to get at and you need to make sure you cut the right wire. I usually stick a bullet connector on the two ends that are left and tape them up so that the connection can be remade if required in the future.

    HTH.

As Wayne said, plenty of patience. You may also find the connections are difficult to get out.......so take care. On three cars I fitted RSM's too, one was a real PITA to get out, one not so bad and the other easy peasy......hope the later applies to you guys

As Wayne said, it would be handy to put bullet connectors on the cable that you snip just in case you need to put it back together. What I did on mine was fit a switch so that I can limit the car if I ever wanted. It stays unrestricted normally but if I ever have to borrow the car to someone or anything or even if PC Plod catches me going at 130mph, I can just say, 'that must be a mistake as the car is speed restricted to 112mph'

Some convertors do not include the unrestriction part. My car was like that. Converted to mph but not unrestricted until I snipped the wire.
