    Boost question again..

how much boost can the 6a12t take? as i am confused since i get a range of answers ranging from 12-15psi..

currently im getting a reading of 7.48psi on my SBC-id and i want to know how far up i can go...

to anyonw who owns a Blitz SBC-id, the 3000gt guys use a gain8/ratio48 setting which gives a 1.05bar overboost then stabilized to 1.00 bar. is this safe for our engines?

1 bar should be fine for VR4`s but every engine is different.

    15 psi is safe !

As long as you have enough fuel I would say 15 psi of boost is safe on the 6A12T. I melted two pistons running over 20 psi in 5th gear for a good 15 seconds. Just watch your boost gauge. I think there is a guy in NZ who has run a 12.6 @ 107mph @ 18psi on his 6A12T.

Yep.. Way mine was working that day, I had 18psi @ 3000, dropping to about 13 - 14 @ 8000. Keep an eye on your air/fuel levels, and play it safe, and you'll be fine. I know of HEAPS of guys here who have been running 16psi ish for quite some time, with no real worries. Just be wary of the fuelling though, it pays to check up on it, the injectors are only 275cc's on these cars, so there's not much room for error. Also, I'm running a bit more than most now (around 15psi @ 8000) since the new intercooler managed to drop my intake temps by about 20 degrees! Now if I could just get around that damn fuel cut....

Just play it safe, and you'll be fine. And trust me, 15 psi is a whole new car from 7 :-D
