Paid for my ticket. Will sort out the track sessions next week. Anyone know the best place for a helmet? Im assuming we need one for when we go on track?
Yup, helmets are mandatory!
Open faced helmets are great for in car track days. loads of vision!
Still here somewhere........
Helmets aremandatory. Just found out that the noise limit this year is 100 dB. Usually measured one metre from the tailpipe at 45 degrees, with the revs at about 4500. Mine passes that easily, as will most.
they had some nice open face ones in lidlOriginally Posted by miller

Wow that sounds like a low db for that set-up. I've got stainless full 3" with downpipes, decat and only 1 very small straight-thru back box.. it's loud. Might get a sports cat in March to squeeze thru the MOT which will kill it a bit.. (I'll bring a load of wire wool in case )Originally Posted by miller
I used to have Wodj's old quad sytem which was way quieter and that measured more than 95db at Coombe a couple of years ago.. and this is way louder.

I bought an open-face helmet from eBay for £19 and its good enough to use on track. To be honest, I think most helmets would be suitable in this case. Nobody is driving with a full rollcage and brace etc. Nobody here needs the multi-million pound invested hi-tech helmets.
Driving out on track at Castle Combe, a £15 Lidl helmet is just as effective as a £45 one from a reputable manufacturer, and they would be as effective as a £200 designer motorcycle helmet.

The issue will be if you want your car on the CVR4 stand. This is first come first served and there are 30 spaces and about half are already gone. To get a space you need to pay for at least one entrance ticket.
3 tickets + 2 track bought
