well i have arranged a test!!! with a highly(so he says) modded Gen 7 Galant and i will be taking my (stock) VR4 Legnum.

he says track he pulls early 13's and possible 12's if tuned rite..
so we will see i guess.

we both have bad clutches so i think a rolling start will be the start..

i will have alot of evidence and proof..

Remember that this is a Wagon vs Sedan so there is a bit of differenc ein the vehicles ie weihgt etc....

You guys seem to have a pretty high opinion of the 8G over the 7G, but then you don't drive both do you ?

Unfortunately unsubstantiated facts are simply not conclusive evidence that a 7G is faster than 8G.

Quinton, what mods are on the 7G?
If I'm replying to your thread and helping you out, it is because I like you and want to help out your VR-4 ownership. No other reason

I would suggest you tell him you want to go from 20kmh to 140kmh. This way you get to stay in 3rd gear while he will have to jump up to 4th or run his car way out of it's efficiency zone. Does anyone know what the cutout is for a 7G? I'm guessing around 7500rpm?

whats the point of this "my dick is bigger than yours" contest?
to really find out which car is quicker the same person would have to drive boths cars on the same road... but who cares? some like the 7G over the 8G....i like the 6G and others dont...christ i like airtreks and others dont!

Apples vs Oranges. Or is that stock apples vs heavily modified oranges?

I don't consider it an 8G VR-4, as it's not an 8th generation in a wagon, just an 8G shape. Plus all this 6,7,8 gen stuff is US based anyway, and they never got the legnum, so they also never call it an 8G for the most part.

But the chassis is 8th gen! Doesn't matter what body goes on it.

Actually, I'm going to rename it the 6G, seeing as the first two generations were obsolete before I was born, so they don't exist in my view.

Of course it is an 8G VR-4, it is a VR-4 through it's driveline and engine, and is an 8G!

Well actually it's not an 8G, an 8G is an eighth generation of the vehicle. There has been only one generation of a legnum, therefore it would actually be a 1G Legnum.

Hmm.. I would say that the Legnum is the wagon version of the 8th generation of the Galant. This is reflected in the UKs Galant Estate naming etc.
