Having the clutch changed this weekend , my mate the mechanic has not changed one on a VR4 before but loads on others. He was wondering if there were any pointers to make it any easier before he gets stuck in ?

Yep......
Biggest help is if you remove the ourput shaft from the n/s of the gearbox with a slide hammer. Helps the transfer box to come off nice and easy. Also, there is a knack of getting the release bearing to separate from the pressure plate. Other than that its not too bad
how bigger job is it, hours cost etc?

Tis quite a large job Tony , I would say 8-10 hrs depending if your doing the flywheel as well ( also if things aren't being a pain )
the usual suspects including myself down here can do them in about 8 hours now including bbq and beers. that 2 - 3 people plus brad serving food we have done a few tho
Just to let you know clutch changed successfully , 7.5hrs
