    Heated Windscreen Washer Jets

What with all of this "lovely" weather we're having, I'm getting a little fed up with frozen washerjets... (I know it's not the screenwash freezing as, if I heat one jet with a hairdryer it starts working again whilst the other jet remains firmly frozen.)

Does anyone know of any electrically heated drop-in replacement washer jets? I'm told even current range doesn't have heated washerjets... shame, 'cos I believe they're fitted on many models by Ford, Audi, BMW, Mercedes, etc

Any benefit in using a loop of pipe to each jet from the engines water jacket? I suppose at least electric will thaw out immediately.

Funny enough I did think of that but, as you say, electric is instant (and easy to wire into the demister circuit) whilst water heated would take a good few minutes to get the heat through to the jets.

Talking to my friend who is a bit of an expert when it comes to Land Rover, especially Range Rovers. They use heated coils at the spray end - these are then activated when the outside temperature sensor gets to a certain low.

So I guess potentially this could be hacked and put onto a VR-4?

OR Vauxhall ones maybe more compatible as they work off a switch being enabled, on a Vectra the rear demister:

And also the MR2 way is with Mondeo washers, but cut a bit out of the bonnet, again linking to the heated rear screen: http://www.mr2roc.org/phpBB3/viewtop...20390&p=333824

why fix it the right way first time - when excessive swearing can occour when it all goes wrong when you don't?

Now with 5.7 liters of V8 muscle

Thanks - gives me some idea of where to "focus" my efforts I'll try and sneak a size up over the next couple of days in my works car park (the staff are sure gonna ask questions when they see me running around their cars with a vernier ) and hopefully order something close to drop-in from ebay...
