I think he has put the VR4 manifolds on to fit past the transfer case and will be making up the rest of the exhaust system himself. It is staying N/A
If I'm replying to your thread and helping you out, it is because I like you and want to help out your VR-4 ownership. No other reason

I wonder how much of an effect on performance that will have? The turbo manifolds are VERY different to the NA ones.

hehehhe funny NEV!! um hit a speed bump today..
noticed that the VR4 Manifolds are totally WRONG!!
Solution was Dismantle the STr today and gut it out for the drivetrain to wreck for my parts i need.

after a bit of fuffing around this morning it came to me the ST-r is 4WD, my Mivec Wagon is 4WD=so thus the ST-r's manifolds, downpipes and sum p an is what i actually need.

so its all out now and ready to strip and refit to the Mivec.
after fitted then i can place the engine etc in place and bolt up,wire up and test start..

after changing the fuel rail lines aswell tho...

and Steve- NO im not putting Turbos on this lol, although it did cross my mind but would thus defeat the whole project of economical and some power when needed

Why don't you make your own manifolds up? You can weld and stuff!

Hey Q, why do you need to change the sump ?

Also if the ST-R is a 6A13 and the Mivec is a 6A12, I don't know if the sump will fit, on the VR-4's 7G-8G the blocks are different shapes.

Noted Dude, but as they say if you dont try you wont know!!!
im sure it will fit as the samwich plate will step anything down that will need to be if you know what i mean..,the blocks look identicle to the 6A13 so im going to try.

the main reason for needing to do this is because the manifold downpipes wont clear the Mivecs BARG of a bottom sump pan wich is huge so ill pt the plate on and a vr4 sump, aswell as convert the oil feed to a vr4 one for ease of servicing too..

remembering these are not 4wd engines usually so it neds to be kitted out with as much 4wd parts as possible to ensure all will bolt up and not foul anything

further more the 7G and 8G blocks are orientated differently wich could mean a huge difference between your 12 block and my 12 block. wich im sure was and is built on the same as the VR4 or ST-r Block?/

Hmmm... possibly, When looking at the 6A12 sump, does it kink in on one side kinda like this ?

    Transmission end |_/--\___| Belt end

If so, then the VR-4 one will fit, if not then you'll have to modify it.

wow love the pic lol... um i cant remember off my head but i can see clearly into the bellhousing tho so id say no?? um but the samwich plate will make up for that possible difference tho.. i hope,Trial and Error ey??
