    HDR Photography

I saw a while back a member (don't recall who) had posted a few pics of his wheels using HDR photography. Got me interested. I experimented today for the first time what say you?

One of the big problems in society is stupidity.
Some people are alive simply because it is illegal to shoot them

Apologies for the watermarks, got a trial copy of the software first to see if I should buy!

Those look good - many HDR images are over-done and too obviously HDR. Yours are not over-cooked.
It's been a crazy year, But through all the damage done,
I have turned and I have learned, To make next year a better one,
    Singing Oh Hallelujah,
    Singing Oh I am home.

Nev - if you need a discount code for Photomatix, PM me & I'll let you know of one which, as far as I am aware, works OK.

Nice stuff. I had a bit of a go at it a while ago, and then promptly forgot all about it.

Yours are better than mine ever were, anyway - groovy

Thanks Isaac - I've never been a fan of using technology to manipulate images (making up for the users inability to shoot!) but this is more an imaging technique in my book so I feel it is allowed ;-)

I know what you mean about the over-cooking, some images I have seen resemble oil paintings and the colourings can get quite gaudy!

    This page gives detail http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/High_dynamic_range_imaging

Essentially I merged 3 images, one taken with normal exposure, one over-exposed and one under-exposed. The software then allowed me to apply 'tone mapping' (see further down in link above) which can really be as harsh or subtle as you like
