Cheers Mate.
The mighty Leedsnum has gone but the Airtrek mods will soon fill this space
How To:Contact Committee or Moderators.
Will be leaving in about 15 minutes. See you all there & good luck everyone.
Good to see everyone again & meet Mike for the first time. You'v got yourself a very nice Galloon there.
I'm very pleased with the results. The Dastek could'nt give the torque readings for the auto but none the less I was impressed.
I got 249 bhp @ the wheels & 288 bhp @ the fly.
The boost is hitting 13.5 & dropping to 9.5.
Will have to upgrade the fuel pump cause it was leaning out at the end.
Very happy though as the graph is very smooth. I'll post it up later.
thats good mate shame about the torque reading making me think about going to extreme now if the dastek cant do the torque which leaves hypertech again cos there the only place that runs the dyno dynamic rollers
Andy, 249bhp at the wheels sounds rather high - that would be about 350bhp at the fly!
As for no torque figures - nonsense! Torque is a function of bhp anyway.
Look forward to the graphs though - smoothness and a nice area under the curve are what you want to see.

288bhp at the fly Nev
Yes, I saw that - but my point was about 249bhp at the wheels. The ATW figure should be the most accurate - and the flywheel figure is calculated from the ATW figure.Originally Posted by aboo

Yes, a good day! Thanks for sorting it Andy - a little closer to home too! Good to see new owner Mike too - that is nice VR4 you've got yourself there, very tidy.
You numbers were very impressive Andy - it's clear why I'm eating your exhaust fumes at Crail!
Unfortunately for me now I have my boost control sorted I'm getting fuel cut around the 4100 rpm point. I had the boost set at 14 psi on the first run then 13 psi and lastly 12 psi but all it did was delay the fuel cut a few rpm. You can see the traces all stop whilst they were rising nicely....so I think the 226 BHP ATW isn't the whole story (yet).
I'm going to have to consult the guru AderC I think - I had the Boost cut tables in ECUFlash set way high at 250 to avoid the dreaded fuel cut but it didn't seem to make any difference. I'm not convinced the table adresses are correct.
Elnevio, I refer you to post #16 where I posted up Dasteks explanation of how their dynos calc FlyHP. They allege that under rundown their system accuratley measures transmission losses. If you believe it !
Anyway, I intend to speak to Dastek again next week and find out why their system can't give torque readings for autos - it did actually measure them, we saw it - but the figures were like 20,000 ft.lb at the start of the run, so I guess it rejects them as being of the scale.
Edit: Doh - was putting mine in as you started the new thread!
phosty whats your boost cut table address?
Hi guys, sorry its taken so long to post but, the broadband modem at home's crapped itself & we can't get online!
it was good to meet some fellow owners, see their cars & get a little feedback on the galoon too. i think its fair to say we all had a good time there. to say i was a little envious of the guys cars would be an understatement, they looked & sounded awesome (on the rollers).
once i figure out how to post up pictures, ill put up my graphs for all to see. in the meantime i got the following:
max power at wheels 233.8 bhp @ 5987 rpm
max power at flywheel 283.9 bhp @ 5987 rpm
max torque 264.4 lb/ft @ 2702 rpm
not bad seeing as the only mod it has (so far) is a k&n panel filter! the boost curve is a little err, curvy but hopefully a MBC will sort that out. more importantly i found out that the motor was healthy & wasn't smoking, knocking or anything else so im well happy with the results!
will post graphs tomorrow hopefully.
chow for now, mike
DOH!
guess the attachments worked after all!
I did'nt see your results on the the day for some reason or the other Mike.
That great figures for a standard VR4.
