    hesitation in pulling away

Sorry if this is`nt in the correct place. Going to see another VR4 tomorrow and the guy reckons it has slight hesitation in pulling away, once going there are no issues. when it`s warmed up there are no issues and runs normal. It only happens when the car is cold.
Anybody experience this one ? Mike.

Does it just feel a bit down on power or is it something like the trans slipping?
If I'm replying to your thread and helping you out, it is because I like you and want to help out your VR-4 ownership. No other reason

Hi, certainly not down on the power. Just kind of hesitates for a couple of seconds before it`ll move off. Changes into the other gears nicely, and once it`s warmed up it pulls away as if there were no problem at all. Mike.

Could be a number of things, it is a bit hard to tell without a video though I think.

Check the ATF level and colour. Easy to do whilst you are looking anyway.

    Perhaps it's got a MAP2-ECU fitted
    Wrong grade of plugs?
Don't suppose you know if it has any non-standard goodies?
More info needed after you've seen it maybe.

My VR-4s (3 of mine and 1 belonging to Jo) have never been smooth when cold. It doesn't take them long to heat up though, so I just drive carefully until then.
