Saw Ryans thread of pics of his own country and a beauty spot and i thought id share some of these snaps i took from my holidays in Ireland recently, namely County Kerry and the Dingle Penninsula. The scenery was stunning and made me think why so many people long to see foreign shores when there is equal beauty on their own doorstep!
So hands up who thinks it rains constantly in Ireland
Valentia Island, looking inland or 'up penninsula'
One of the most easterly points of Europe, looking out to the Atlantic. Next stop America. The two Islands in the background are the 'Skelligs' with the larger one being 'Skellig Michael' being prominent for christianity and retreating monks
One of my favourite pics, caught these two young uns having a nap on the warm hillside! What a place to sleep cant get much better than that eh!
Castlegregory Strand
And finally a trip to Dingle isnt complete without going to visit their resident Bottlenose Dolphin called 'Fungie'. He arrived in 1984 and hasnt left since, he appears for all boats coming in and out of the harbour. The town has built a lot of tourism based on this remarkable Dolphin.
and a short Vid clip of said famous resident!
