    My 2000 ST-R

It was originally a manual Type S VR-4 made in 2000. Quinton has had the shell for a while. The AYC has been removed and as you can see if you look closely at the firewall it was originally Indigo Blue. It also has a moonroof.

It will be built up with a manual VR-4 gearbox, flywheel, clutch and transfer case and have a Type V rear diff in it. The rest of the drivetrain will also be VR-4 spec with stock VR-4 brake calipers and discs front and rear. As you can no doubt see it will be painted green

The wheels will be Weds TC-005's in 17x8" 38mm with 225/45/17 tyres on them painted gunmetal grey. I already own a set of these wheels in 17x9.5" 35mm which you can see on my purple VR-4 here http://www.clubvr4.com/forum/vbpicga...hp?do=view&g=7

It will have a facelift front bumper slightly customised, facelift rear flares (but none on the front) and the rest of a facelift VR-4 kit. Finally it will have a Ralliart tipped stock VR-4 exhaust with a decat.

If I'm replying to your thread and helping you out, it is because I like you and want to help out your VR-4 ownership. No other reason

So whats the plan with this Brad? Eventually replace the purple one? Or just leave this drive train stock and modify visually?

Now thats what I call stripped out - love it!!
Is it a N/A V6 going in then? As I see you're goung to change flywheel, clutch etc which of course you'll have to.
Knowing you young Sir, you've checked out all the gear ratios so guess you're happy with that.
Keep us posted, will be interested in results.

Looks interesting Brad. What's the shade of green that you're painting it called? I presume it's not a Mitsubishi colour?

Andy, yes a 6A13 SOHC is going in there. JDM spec so 175hp which I'm hoping will be bumped up a bit by the decat and Ralliart VR-4 exhaust. It will have VR-4 ratios which I'm happy with, the standard V6 4wd 1st gear is too short and 2nd is too long, the ratios are closer and better

Kieran, it is called Poison Ivy.

What a name for a paint colour!

I love that colour... I must say though, it's a brave choice... I am wondering if the Legnum is the right shape to carry that colour? I'm wondering if it's a bit too light. But I guess we'll see. Trying to overlay that colour onto an 8G, I am thinking that the Fail-lift shape will carry the colour better (shock horror!). I think the PFL would look a bit wrong with it.

I tend to agree, the extra curves of the front bumper, bonnet, rear flares and rear tail gate will look very good with that paint colour. It has quite a bit of pearl in it so I think it will look fantastic in the sun.

any reason they didnt sit the shell fully on the transporter instead of the rear wheels on the down slope? Two straps holding it on doesnt seem enough to me?
    Still here somewhere........

It may have had one on the rear tow hook that we can't see?

I guess it is also pretty light at the moment as it has NOTHING in it at all.

Trev, no updates just yet. Quinton needs to clear out another car before he really starts on my car.

Andy, I love Roanne Red too . As I've said before, I think that 6 closely spaced gears will be great in a V6 and will reall make it come alive.
