    Brad, I am following the thread with high interest...and yes...I reckon'd that you'll have a 6-speed manual.

I wish to convert to manual as well and 5 speed would suit me. But it's hard to find a manual box (either 8G Galant 4WD or Outlander/Airtrek 4WD or Chariot Grandis 4WD in Germany).

But anyhow, great project and good luck!
the one and only...Pearl White Legnum 25 ST-R...registered in Germany - now featuring a 6A13TT engine (unless you know otherwise)

It can't be that hard to find one, they only made 350 manual ST-R's
If I'm replying to your thread and helping you out, it is because I like you and want to help out your VR-4 ownership. No other reason

As said, you can take the manual gearbox from a Chariot Grandis (or SpaceWagon in Europe) or from an Airtrek (or Outlander Series I in Europe) as well. But it's hard to find such things in Germany...

In europe lots of them are available in manual, whereas in Japan only Auto's are available.

Yeah Q, I know. But you are on the other side of the world and as a matter of fact, this makes the whole thing VERY expensive.

im not sure,um i want to trial weld the bolts on there and space it and see if it will clear the Dash and gear surround tho,if not we may have issues, can you get pictures form the guy in the netherlands whom did this conversion or not? its only the swing arm thats lower and causing the issue,i could massage or plasma cut it out to suit but dont recommend it....

do you have a normal shifter?
perhaps fit it as temp, and take a few measurments see if it will fit?
any particular reason for the evo shift cradle?

    Looking for the quick-shifter pics?

Google translate it (although no real usefull information)

Pics (not that informative either unfortunately).

It was actually someone in Russia who has the 6 speed in a VR-4. I will send him a PM and see how he got around it.

You should be able to weld a bracket to that rusty part. A sheet of metal running right underneath the bolt holes in the cradle.

Actually, looking closer, you can just bend a length of metal in four places, and mount it to the existing holes.
