id like to but £300 really is my limit for disks and pads, the fronts are the only ones that need doing now, they are warped pretty bad so i need to pay for some quickish the car shudders when i brake when they are hot.

the back have some life left, how daft would it be to just put the fronts on for now?
i suppose its always cheaper to buy the full set long term.
youtube "tha got beef wi me"
    i made that.

Nothing wrong with just doing one axle with regards to brakes. Fronts are always more important than rears and will usually wear quicker too.

For £300 your options are CRN and Carbotech or EBC redstuff and turbogroove discs. Both get good reviews. Carbotech gets more comments on brake dust eating your wheels, but probably gets more comments on stopping power.

I'd be tempted to go with grooved discs (possibly CRN) and Ferodo DS2500 pads. That was always a good upgrade in the past, more than adequate unless you want to start track days or major hooligan driving. There's a chance of getting that £50 or more cheaper too.

grooved discs (possibly CRN) and Ferodo DS2500 pads sounds good for 50 quid cheaper, where would i get the pads from?

Discs £100 delivered, pads £110 plus delivery. About £220 all in? Well under the £300 budget....

    Feck! No!!

You won't get turbo groove & redstuff on all four wheels for £300. And you deifintely won't get carbotech for that. Front pads alone in Carbotech are somewhere around £160 now....

You won't get a decent upgrade for all four wheels for £300, I don't think. £400 maybe. If you really are on that budget for all four, then you could go for this:
    http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/FRONT-REAR-BRA...item4cf17191d9
and then fit decent pads in 6 months.

Just don't go too mental on the rally driving in the meantime. They'll still stop you in an emergency though.

CRN discs and redstuffs are not something anyone has really been impressed with as far as I can remember. The only people really pleased with red stuff pads that I have spoken to have used them with EBC turbogroove discs.

I changed my rear pads this afternoon and the guide pins are deff 14mm. Sounds like yours may have been changed at some time.

Also I would remove both bolts. This way you can grease them both while they are out and it also makes it easier to push the piston back in with a suitable clamp.

The second link is too expensive for me, do you run crn and redstuff wood?

Nick, what do= you think about the disks in the link you sent me and the redstuff pads?

anyone that has run crn and redstuff opinions appreciated.

You said £300 is your Limit ? £300 + £10 P&P for front and rear discs and Red stuff pads front and rear is a bargain in my opinion Though i am not the Man So ignore my opinion

Andybrvr4 is running the £300 setup above.

Im sure you are more the man than I am the man but having met Nick Mann I think he's the man, he is a man I know that much.

Im sure your opinion is more than valid and as it falls within my price range one i will be pondering much.

all advice appreciated as i know noffin.

    Thumbs up

    Sorry, I know it's like a week later now but I went for these;

    Front Drilled & Grooved Discs (£140.95) - http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.d...=STRK:MEWNX:IT

    Rear Drilled & Grooved Discs (£67.95) - http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.d...=STRK:MEWNX:IT

EBC Red Stuff Front Pads (£62.99) - http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.d...=STRK:MEWNX:IT

EBC REd Stuff Rear Pads (£44.99) - http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.d...=STRK:MEWNX:IT

TOTAL: £316.88 - I know it's a little over the £300 mark but to me seems like a very decent set of discs & pads for the money. I'm getting my mate to fit them tomorrow but I bet someone's going to tell me before hand that these are the wrong ones or something! lol. Sorry if it's too late for you mate - Adam
