Here we go again

We had planned to return in September, but the only weekend it was open all day Sat & Sun (11th and 12th) was changed last week and they have now closed the Nordschleife on the 12th all day for the Oldtimer's Festival 1000km race.

So, plan B was worked on almost immediately........and here are the current arrangements we have booked.

Depart - Friday October 1st - Sea France - Dover to Calais (8.15am ferry)
Return - Monday October 4th - Sea France - Calais to Dover (3.40pm ferry)

The Nordschleife is currently scheduled to open at these times over this weekend:

Fri 1st: 17.15 to 19.00
Sat 2nd: 08.00 to 19.00
Sun 3rd: 08.00 to 19.00

Mmm, tempted, especially as I didn't get allocated any Ryder Cup tickets in the ballot ...

I'll need to think about it, but I'd like to do Spa around the same time - there's a public open day at Spa on Monday 27th September so we could do that, have a few days' holiday, and arrive at the Ring for Friday 1st

Don't know anything about the houses at the Ferienpark in Drees. Is it not a bit of a trek to the pub?

Well we took turns driving to the Motorsport/Pistenklause etc (about 5 to 10 mins), or they did a free shuttlebus to the F1 complex I think - but heard the prices up there are extortionate.

We also ate at Pinochios in Adenau, and also the chinese down there - so needed the cars anyway. Of course can always eat and then retire to a house and drink a lot cheaper

All I can say Brian, is that the house we had was so impressive I doubt I will stay anywhere else from now on. It made life so much more comfortable.

we considered it but we're also thinking of driving to and from each day and having the VR-4 on the Sat with the Delica on Sun

Been trying to rope a couple of our Dutch friends in today. We are definitely coming but yet to decide if we will stay overnight. Either way there will be a 2ton+ 4x4 MPV on the track that weekend.....unless it breaks again.

I think Brian usually goes from Newcastle to somewhere in Holland? Its obviously a longer ferry trip but much less driving ....
