    how exactly is yours broken?
If I'm replying to your thread and helping you out, it is because I like you and want to help out your VR-4 ownership. No other reason

I lost second gear due to thrashn my old gearbox/threw my rwd setup(had done 190,000+). Im getn in as much practice as possible before the d2 at manfield in nov. Im to scared at the moment to open it up and have a look. I will rebuild it but need a spare for now! And im trying to finish my super 4wd setup too. and rebuild my engine+td04 upgrade.

D-rek. Evo 4,5,6 gearboxs fix by swapping the bellhousings and one of the shifter arms. alot easier and cheaper to source. Alot easier than it sounds.

I thought losing second in the manuals was just a symptom of the gear linkages mounting thing breaking?

Hi All what about the v6 2.5l, 6A 13 GALANT manual gerboxes are they the same as vr4 ones? I have problem with my g.box (manual vr4 1997 )start make a ticking noise when is on neutral gear and low rpm and getting louder
I think soon gonna need manual gear box which is hard to find if the v6 galant g.boxes are the same will be much easy is it ?

The normal v6 gearbox will not fit a vr4 as the normal v6 is not 4wd !

    Not completely correct..
    A N/A V6 manual gearbox will mate to a VR4. But not in a 4WD configuration

sad I have done td04 conversion recently only I need to do is to exhaust and bigger injectors and finally remap AND NOW THIS NOUSE FROM THE GEARBOX it is gonna take my time and money.
I dont know how hard is to fix evo gearbox to manual vr I presume will be easier from auto gearbox because I can use my bellhousing and fix only the rest of the gearbox is it right or not ?
What I need to do if I try with evo gearbox ?as I see they are identical only the gear ratios are a bit different .

Why don't you open it and see what's wrong? Might just be the input shaft bearing which is a cheap and easy fix
