    Wheel Size Advice

    Help,
I was wondering if I can upgrade my wheels on my VR4 to the following size and if so will it cause any issues with fouling bodywork or suspension ?
Looking to go for 18"x7.5 with and offset of +45
    Tyres 225x40.

Your help and advice would be appreciated.

Brad can probably give you the definitive answer on this, but:

+45 offset with that rim width will mean that the wheels will possibly sit too far in, and could be fouling the suspension.

An offset of +35 to +38 should give you sufficient clearance. I run 225/45/17s on 8" wide rims with an offset of +35, with no issues.

Must be VERY close! What rim width is that though?

And do you mean 45s? Or 40s? 45s would be a bit too big, I think.

You would try and go with a 35-38mm offset ideally. I wouldn't run 45mm for the reasons Nev said above.

What other offsets and widths are they available in?
If I'm replying to your thread and helping you out, it is because I like you and want to help out your VR-4 ownership. No other reason

Latest is that they only do the Monza in a 45 offset on an 18". If they sit to far in could you fit a spacer ? Not entirley sure is this is technically allowable , maybe somebody can advise ?

That isn't ideal, I think it is time to shop for another type of wheel.

That will be right on the other limits! Should be ok with 225/40/18 though. You may have to roll the inside lip on the rear arches depending on how low the car is.
