I have seen the car before. It was imported by 200bhp cars or so last year... Has been taken a while since it was sold and has been on ebay several times IIRC.

It's a bit pricey IMO, although it might be a COTY. Good luck with the sale mate and a free bump for you.
the one and only...Pearl White Legnum 25 ST-R...registered in Germany - now featuring a 6A13TT engine (unless you know otherwise)

Has it got COTY badge or other spec that confirm it as COTY model?

Brad will probably be along shortly telling me off for advising with incorrect details, but I believe the COTY is just a regular PFL with a pearlescent white paint, polished PFL wheels and the very very nice black leather interior. It also had a small badge on the rear pillar by the rear lights to indicate the COTY status.

Whilst it is a very rare model, it sadly isnt reflected in the market prices for these cars. The car at the end of the day is another PFL Legnum and is worth the same as any other similar condition Legnum.

Good luck with the sale though as it looks to be a nice car

Model code will show what variant it is - IIRC "LYGF 1" on the chassis plate means COTY.

Still a COTY though, badge or no badge. The leather is the biggest difference anyway.

The COTY spec is basically a cold spec PFL auto Legnum - so beefier alternator, heated front screen under the wipers, bigger battery, undertray, rudimentary undersealing (as opposed to none!), and the bonus items are the black leather interior and COTY badging.

As said though, Brad will be along soon enough to fill in the fine cracks with his lumbering cement truck!

No lumbering cement truck yet so I'll get me trowel out

COTYs all have TCL/AYC/ASC & an auto box. They also have gorgeous wheels, black leather interior, wooden console & wooden Nardi wheel & come in Pearlescent White (AKA Galaxy White [W95] & were the only PFL in that colour).
They never appeared in manual guise or with a sunroof (boo). AFAIK they all have rails too.

I bought it cos of the leather - I love it cos when it's clean the pearly colour & diamond cut wheels look the nads.

    Oh.... & mine's a warm spec.

First Special Edition – COTY model – beginning to middle of 1997
The entire 8th Generation Galant and Legnum range won the Japanese Car Of The Year award for 1996-1997. Mitsubishi created a special edition to celebrate this victory. The COTY model was only available in Legnum form, and with only one specification. All were VR-4 Type S’s with the intent of showing off all of the technology available in the range, coming standard with AYC, ASC and TCL. The only interior option was black leather with matching door trims. They were the only VR-4’s ever to come with black leather interior, other models were only available with tan leather. The steering wheel was the standard wood and leather combination that came on the tan leather cars. The exterior colour scheme was limited to Pearl White, paint code W75. Few prefacelift VR-4’s were optioned with this colour code, most came with solid white. The Pearl colour became the standard white on facelift VR-4’s. The other exterior features unique to the COTY models were two badges on the D pillars with COTY writing on them, and the stock 5 spoke wheels came in a polished finish with dark edging. None were available with the moonroof optional on other VR-4’s, or the MMCS system. These were still tuned to 191kw, 343nm.
If I'm replying to your thread and helping you out, it is because I like you and want to help out your VR-4 ownership. No other reason

I forgot to add an 'I think' to my previous post. Maybe they were all warm spec then? Or maybe a mix of the two after all.

I've never seen a cold spec one. My one was warm spec. Not to say they don't exist though!
